CIP RC/PT Girder Help

Temperature Gradient Dialog Box

CIP RC/PT Girder allows you to add a Gradient (TG) Temperature Load to project loads and to combinations. Gradient temperature allows you to change temperature of the top and bottom independently (e.g., +10, +5, and -30, -20). Gradient temperature loadings produce a constant strain plus curvature.

To add a gradient temperature load, perform the following steps:
  1. Select the analysis/design case from the drop-down list.
  2. Right-click Temperature Load Group and select Add Gradient Temperature command.
  3. When the Temperature Gradient Load dialog box opens, enter Load Name, rise and fall values (in degrees) for the top and bottom of the superstructure.
  4. Click OK button to return to the Loads/Analysis tab.
  5. Double-click name of the gradient load to view or edit the load.
Note: You can only add one gradient temperature loading to a given combination. However, you can add as many gradient temperature loads as you like to the project and obtain results for each loading.
